Green River Packing List
Review Breakwater Expeditions packing list to get a better understanding of what you need to bring with you on this adventure.
General

2-3 Short Sleeve Shirts Shirts with quick drying/wicking material.

1-2 Long Sleeve Shirt Long sleeve shirts with quick drying/wicking material.

1 Quick Dry Shorts Lightweight nylon shorts; could be used as a swimsuit.

1 Swimsuit Can substitute with quick drying shorts & sports bra

1-2 Fleece Pullover Lightweight fleece as additional warm layer. Often 1/4 zip.

1 Fleece Pants Should be loose enough to fit over a pair of long underwear or shorts

1-2 Nylon Pants For bug and sun protection. No Cotton, could zip off to shorts.
Inner Layers: Fits next to skin

3-4 Sports Bras Can be worn as a swim top. Should have proper support for athletic activity.

4-5 Underwear

1 Long Underwear-Tops and Bottoms This is a base layer that will keep you warm in cold or wet weather. You will be wearing them daily. Make sure this is not cotton.
Outer Layers: Must fit over all other layers

1 Fleece or Puffy Jacket A mid to heavy weight fleece or insulated jacket with a full length zipper.

1 Rain Jacket and Rain Pants Should be waterproof, not water resistant. Rain Jackets should have hood.

1 Sarong wrap Optional for changing with, covering your legs, shade, etc.
Head and Hands

1 Fleece hat For when things get chilly or wet.

1 Fleece Gloves/Ski Gloves (optional) To keep your hands warm. It is sometimes chilly in the morning.

1 Wide Brim Hat/ Ball Cap To cover your face for sun protection.

1 Paddling Gloves (optional) These can be for paddling or biking.
Feet

2-3 Wool or synthetic Socks For warmth and bug protection. No cotton.

1 Water Shoes Must be sturdy with a heal strap (no flip-flops, no crocs). Slip on aqua shoes are not recommended.

1 Camp Shoes/Walking Shoe Shoes to take walks in, keep feet warm and dry. Old pair of running shoes can work.
Personal Items

1 32oz Water Bottle To keep you hydrated. Wide mouth bottles recommended.

1 Travel Pillow To help you sleep at night. Compressible or blow up pillows recommended.

1 Sunglasses with strap To protect eyes in a reflective environment. Strap so you don’t drop them in the water.

1 Bandana For a variety of uses in the backcountry.

1 Sunscreen and Chapstick To help protect from UV rays while in the water.

1 Toiletries Includes toothbrush, toothpaste, sunscreen, lip balm and bug spray.

1 Travel Clothes Clean clothes for the trip home and going out to dinner upon return from river trip.

1 Duffle Bag To pack clothes in. No hard shell luggage if possible.

1 Journal, Pen, Book Things to keep your mind happy and allow for personal space.

1 Towel (small) To dry you off after taking a swim. Reasonable travel size. Quick dry, not cotton is recommended.

1 Headlamp To help you see at night. *Plus extra set of batteries*

Sleeping Bag Synthetic, 20-40 degrees depending on course area and time of year.

Sleeping Pad Inflatable or foam.

Compression Sack To compress your sleeping bag down for packing.
