Paddle Like a Girl is now offering ORCKA Basic Canoeing Levels 1-4 certifications by special request only.
Basic canoeing level 1 (BC1)
(Tandem)
Prerequisites: None
Duration: 5 hours
Age: 14+
Cost: $90
Course Description: This is an introductory canoeing course and it will cover the following:
Equipment selection, knowledge and care, safe canoeing procedures, tandem paddling skills including balance, pivots and landing, forward straight lines, lifts and carries, and an introduction to canoe over canoe rescue.

Course Description: Building on and perfecting skills learned in BC1, BC2 also covers the following:
trimming your canoe, changing positions in the canoe, inside and outside turns, circles and landings, reverse straight lines.
Basic canoeing level 1 (BC1)

Prerequisites: Basic Canoeing Level 2

Course Description: Refine the skills learned in BC1 & 2 and perform manoeuvres with more precision. This course also covers the following:
Environmental awareness, re-entering canoe from the water, car topping and a canoe tour.

Duration: 1.5 days (12 hours)

Cost: $250
Course Description: Applying all of the skills learned in
BC 1, 2 & 3 to solo paddling. Upon completion of this course you will be able to complete all of the manoeuvres learned previously as a solo paddler.

Duration: 1.5 days (12 hours)

Course Description: This fast-track through levels 1, 2 & 3 will cover all of the knowledge and skills outlined in each course description. This may be a more beneficial option for those looking to complete all three.

Duration: 2.5 days (24 hours)

Course Description: This fast-track through levels 1, 2, 3 & 4 will cover all of the knowledge and skills outlined in each course description.

- Courses will take place in Magnetawan, Ontario
- Price includes use of our canoes, safety kits, paddles & PFDs
- Transportation to and from the course as well as any accommodations will be the participants responsibility.
